17 St. Magnus Close Reviews

We have stayed at this property many times and love the location and the amazing view from conservatory and the garden. The local high street in Birchington has a lovely selection of shops and cafes. A short walk into Minnis Bay and you find the Minnis Bay Brasserie. Lovely coffee with a fab view. My elderly father finds the furniture at the property really low. So we rearrange the sofa cushions to give him a higher seat. The kitchen has everything you need and the lovely goodies left are a welcome treat.

This is a fabulous property, right on the cliffs overlooking the sea with a secret staircase down to the water's edge. I nearly didn't book as I usually like to stay in period cottages, but this house was one of the best I've ever stayed in. As it was Winter we stayed in during the evenings. The furniture was all incredibly comfortable only small issue is they could do with a new, larger TV. Otherwise, perfect!

Had a lovely stay. Beautiful house with amazing views, just wish we had booked for longer. Close to local amenities and plenty to do. Only negative points are that the sofa needs replacing and a bigger tv would be nice. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will be back
The house is stunning and the location couldnt be bettered but . . I realise this might read as though Im simply echoing Samanthas August review, but she really captured much of what Id like to say. The house is stunning, with the only real drawback being the rather small JackandJill shower room. The location is fantasticbeautiful views, direct access to the walkway and beaches, lovely country walks, and excellent road links for exploring Thanet. It makes a brilliant base for a holiday. That said, there are a few areas that could use some attention. The house would benefit from a thorough clean. The JackandJill shower isnt very pleasant, with mould that seems to have been building up for quite some time. The conservatory door opening also needs a proper clean, and we noticed plenty of cobwebs and other signs of lessthanthorough cleaning. This might make it sound as though we didnt enjoy our staybut we had a wonderful time. Its a lovely house in a perfect spot to enjoy the beaches and countryside with our dog. With just a bit more care and cleaning, it could be truly unbeatable.

Lovely house & location. Twin beds were very low, we were a party of 6 all adults, so getting up off a very low bed was a struggle. Rubbish had been collected, however property management sorted this quickly when informed. On the gas hob 3 of the rings didn't work & let property management know. There were a lot of little black flies in kitchen all the time and were a nuisance. The house could have done with a very good clean, especially toilet pedestals. Overall we had a lovely week.
Michelle
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was our 3rd stay and we booked whilst there to go back in June 26. What would make our holiday even more comfortable wouldve a new sofa and more comfortable chairs in the conservatory.
We had a great stay, the house was so well equipped that I don't think the listing does it justice. As someone travelling with 2 small children there was everything I could possibly need from a travel cot, with an actual proper mattress, a nonslip mat for the bath, a few toys, highchair and even some kids cups and cutlery. These little things make a huge difference when you travel with kids and I just think that anyone reading this review that is thinking of booking this with small children it is really brilliantly set up. Other than that there really is everything you think you might need plenty of everything the kitchen was so well equipped I could have made a birthday cake if I had wanted to! The view is amazing and I did read a few of the snidy comments left on the review page before we left and felt they were so unfounded we really appreciated everything the house was so clean and peaceful. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Comfortable and well equipped. Lovely views from back of property. Had trouble getting a decent flow of water pressure in the en suite shower to master bedroom probably just not used to it. Kitchen had everything you would need.Overall a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.

The location of No 17 provides a relaxing view of the sea as well as having the secret stairs right next to it providing easy access to the promenade. The property is also ideally located for the High Street and its array of shops and eateries. We have stayed at No 17 on 3 occasions and are already planning on booking our 4th stay.
Michelle
We had a fantastic stay at 17st Magnus Close, the house is in the most amazing location with uninterrupted views of the sea. The garden is well equipped with comfortable seating to enjoy the view. The house was clean and tidy & very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved our stay & would definitely book again. Thank you!
Michelle
Holiday cottage is fantastic, everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. Great location for sightseeing and great views of the beach. We have already booked for September and will be returning next June again.
Lovely house, clean, nices spaces. We could bbq, great view. Really a house to recommend. We only missed one bathroom downstairs because we were with to familys and the children slept upstairs. For the rest, great.

This is a wonderful holiday property. It is in a beautiful location which is obviously an asset but the whole property was delightful. It is ideal for a large group and very easy to stay in. It is very comfortable and there has been so much attention to detail. We also love Birchington with its bustling high street.

What a fantastic holiday property. We stayed over Xmas 2023 and there is every facility you could want. Quite apart from the location, on the cliff top above the promenade right on the sea with essentially unbroken sea views from the conservatory and two back bedrooms, the house itself is wonderful. The owners could not have been more helpful, we had some concerns over some of the more recent feedback but they gave detailed reassurance of fixes and changes that had been made including replacing the patio doors and central heating controls. A vast kitchen fully stocked with every gadget and tool you could need, a huge livingdining room with a wonderful log burner, and four very comfortable bedrooms, that's without even mentioning the wonderful welcome pack and beautiful Christmas tree. Thank you so much, Christmas was a triumph.
Arrived to garden full of weeds, pvc around doors and conservatory filthy. Between patio doors opened were mouldy and rusty. Kitchen tiles mouldy, jacuzzi path jets thick with mould. Towel rails on floors which had fallen off walls but never replaced. Ceiling light had visible wires from ceiling as plastic covering was off. Overall yellow radioators and walls needing repainting. Shame as property had lovely views but the overall condition is not up to a standard you expect when you pay 1300 for a week.
Pamela
Lovely house and kitchen very well equipped. Beds very comfortable and house lovely and clean. We appreciated all the equipment for the children, great travel cot, high chair. Nice enclosed garden for children and dogs and great location. We did phone agent and asked for the grass to be cut, the garden generally looked untidy and patio slabs need Jet washing . Would have liked a simple bbq we took our own but struggled with what to stand it on. Had a wonderful week and weather amazing which made the seaweed smell! Thankyou.

No 17 st magnus close, was wonderful, great sea views walking distance to shops. Had everything you need for a perfect holiday. We are definitely going back. The only thing letting the property down was the maintenance of the rear garden, its a nice size garden, it would have looked a lot better if the garden was landscaped and new paving slabs put down
Wonderful property with great facilities everything you need and more. Welcome package on arrival made it extra special. Location is excellent right on the coastal path. Made for a memorable and super comfortable stay. Thank you to the owners of 17 St Magnus Close
Apologies in delay to give feedback. We were extremely happy with this lovely property. It has everything to make the stay perfect. It is situated in quiet culdesac overlooking the sea. We loved sitting in the conservatory watching the sea. The walks from the property were lovely. It was a surprise holiday with family for my wife's special birthday, we all had the best time. Thank you. Would love to return at somepoint, can see it's already very booked up.
Booked St Magnus as we were visited family in Birchington. Found the property very comfortable and extremely quite. It was well equipped with everything you might need on your visit also had the instruction manuals which in our case was a bonus, a home from home. The walk along the front each morning certain cleared the cobwebs. The view of the sea changed every hour and passed many an hour with the sunsets. Would certainly recommend!
Maggie
We have had a happy and comfortable stay in this lovely property. Comfortable and well equipped with wonderful sea views from the rear garden, in a quiet cul de sac yet with surprise access to the promenade. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone wanting to relax or explore this corner of Kent.
Natalie
We found a number of issues with the fixturesfittings and the cleanliness was not of a good standard used coffee cup on sillwrappers on floor etc. A plumber was required but was totally unreliable and took the house keys with him! We notified the owner on these matters who was forthcoming with compensation. In addition my back suffered from one bed which was relieved by playing musical beds each night! The sea view welcome, but this is not a section of beach to spend any amount of time On. Best beaches Broadstairs and Minnis Bay. The house was roomy and in a quiet area. The garden sparrows were most welcome! Also the local golf at Quex was one of the best weve played.
Fantastic stay! Great location and really well equipt.
Lovely house well equiped with stunning view across the North Sea. Biggest anoyance was lack of TV. TV is only connected to the internet with no other service. One has to sign in to own BBC iplayer to watch so no flicking between channels . As the net locally seems to drop out every 20 minutes not a good experience. Enjoyed the stay with plenty of interesting places to visit and walking locally is pleasant. Poor mobile reception
Sandra
A beautiful home. This is such a great place to stay, there is everything you could need, plenty of space, very clean and comfortable and an ideal base for visiting Kents attractions. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it. Nice touches also like the welcome goodies, which even excluded some treats for the dog plus there was dog bowls, and bed supplied. We couldnt fault the place.
Michael
Cleaned to a very high standard. Position of property first class. On the top of the cliff overlooking the sea is to die for from the conservatry and both back bedrooms waking up opening the curtains WOW. Decorated well. Kitchen well equipped. Finding a little gem as we walked around the side of the house two layers of steps through a tunnel straight done to the promenade. Will definitely be back as a return customer providing price is right. One thing that needs to be done is the front door adjustment when door is closed there is a massive gap this could be a security issue. Perhaps a bit more lititure of things and places around would be helpful. 5 stars
We had a wonderful stay at 17. For us it was a family getaway to celebrate my Dads 70th Birthday and it really is a perfect property for celebrating a special occasion. The location is incredible and we loved sitting in the conservatory looking out to sea and enjoyed lovely walks to explore the nearby sands of Minnis Bay. The property is beautifully furnished & presented, the owners have thought of everything and it's extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There was even a dog bed, bowls and treats provided as we were travelling with a dog, which the owner even took the time to email us about before we left to help with our packing we felt extremely welcome before we actually arrived! We would highly recommend this property and will definitely return.
Richard
This property was great and really felt like a home from home and would not hesitate in coming back! The owners left the most thoughtful welcome package which was thoroughly enjoyed and made going away with a toddler so easy by having a travel cot, high chair, baby monitor there for us. The view was amazing and had a lovely walk to Minnis bay where you will find a great cafe and pub. Thanks again for a great stay!
A fab place , everything about it is just amazing. The views are to die for, the house has basically everyhing you need , you can feel like in your own home . We had a lovely welcome pack goodies and Prosseco also treats for the dog, ballons, New Yers Eve banner for our party ,we were very surprised in a very good way! Thank you very much for everything we will definetly be coming back!

The house was amazing. Clean and lovely and the hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our arrival with a little baby ensuring we had everything we needed. They even put up a beautiful Christmas tree. The house was comfortable, beautiful and the location was idyllic. No doubt we will be back!
