Ivy Cottage is superbly located on the perimeter of the beautiful Margam Park. The cottage is charming, spacious and well-equipped. The decor is tasteful throughout and definitely has a Welsh feel to it- I loved the use of local materials eg slate and Welsh tapestry. The kids were really excited by the regular visits of a peacock to our garden! The communication with the property's owners was efficient and friendly. Thanks for the welcome goodies!

Absolutely brilliant location with Porthcawl and Aberavon only minutes away. The secret gate to the Park was a big plus as we liked walking around the park after it was closed to the public. Plenty of walks available. The Cottage was very spacious and was like a home from home. Having a bathroom on both floors was a plus too! Nice size bedrooms and comfy beds. Sunroom was a lovely room to sit and relax. We used the Washing Machine twice (very handy). Already missing the place! We will return!

The cottage is well equipped for 5 guests. It was clean and sparkling when we arrived. The small welcome pack of teas, coffees and biscuits was very welcome and our dog appreciated his version. The location was perfect for us with plenty of walking on the estate and close to good beaches. We had no problems with food delivery to the cottage, groceries and take aways. Peter, one of the Friends of Margam, was particularly helpful with offers of guided tours and walks and sharing local knowledge.

The cottage is very nice and as mentioned the position and historical setting are what makes it special. I would recommend if you are attending a wedding in the Orangery, can stay a whole week and can afford the high price.
