About Smallcroft

This timber framed bungalow is situated in the village of Seasalter, Kent, a little coastal estuary town next to its busier neighbour Whitstable. Equally perfect for families or friends, Smallcroft is a ground floor retreat with a light and fresh interior, welcoming guests to its doors all-year-round. Comprising a collection of quality rooms, this cottage has been thoughtfully designed to promote comfort and relaxation every day of your holiday. Inside, discover a contemporary kitchen backed by deep red tiles, and a comfy lounge/diner where you can gather together with your loved ones, morning through to evening. There is a collection of bedrooms to choose from as the night draws in, including a double with bedside tables and a chest of drawers, a stylish twin, and a single option which also features a trundle bed should you wish to bring along extra guests. The shower room is decorated in a marble effect, somewhere of quality to get ready during your stay. Outside is just as appealing, previewing a raised decked area with furniture, as well as a lower tier with comfy seating, your homely place to relax under the sunshine. The beach at Seasalter is mainly shingle and sand and therefore quieter than the sandy bays at Westgate-on-Sea which is just along the coast. Whitstable is a quaint coastal town, with cobbled streets, quirky shops and a well-visited fishing harbour. Take a trip to Faversham where you can take a guided tour. A charming holiday experience to build some memories.

Smallcroft Reviews

Alison
This was our first visit to Smallcroft, a spotlessly clean and tidy property. Sufficient parking for 2 cars. Nice welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for a snack and drink on arrival. The property was a bit like the Tardis, it looked very small from the outside but had plenty of space inside! The furnishings are all good quality and comfortable. The 3 bedrooms now consist of 2 double rooms and a twin room. The beds were very warm and comfortable with lovely linens. The kitchen, though small, had just about everything needed. Nice bathroom with excellent shower. Very good wifi and tv. Lovely seating in the back garden with comfortable cushions. Perhaps the owner might like to consider a pizza cutter for the kitchen, a shower mat in the bathroom as the base of the shower is a little slippery when wet and soapy, and a printed list for the recycling as the labels on the bins are very faded. We would recommend Smallcroft to anyone wanting a base in North Kent as its a delightful property in a beautiful area of the country.

We had a good stay at the accommodation. The house is a good base for visiting many sights in the area. The house has good amenities and equipment, including cooking utensils. The garden gets sun for a large part of the day. We enjoyed our holiday week in Seasalter and hope to return someday. Greetings from Holland.
Claire
Lovely accommodation with plenty of space. Very nicely decorated and everything was spotlessly clean. Great place for a last minute change of Christmas plans.

What a find! A great property in a great location. Easy access to Whitstable town centre, Canterbury and many other local places of interest. The property was spotlessly clean and nice and warm on what was a very cold weekend. Jo is a great host and was keen to ensure we got the most from our stay. We love Whitstable and will definitely be booking this property again.

Lovely stay spotlessly clean . Everything you could need for a great stay . All Appliances easy too use . Location great for visiting Kent.

Smallcroft was the perfect location for seeing so much of Kent. It is very comfortable and a relaxing place to come back to each day. The communication from the owner was excellent, but not intrusive. It has to be one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed, and so well equipped. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you.
Smallcroft is a lovely spacious clean home in a great quiet location with all the facilities you could need. Two local shops very handy about a 5 minute walk or Whitstable in 30 minutes along the shingle beach has plenty of quaint shops, restaurants, cafe's, pubs etc. Ideally situated to visit other attractions in Kent.
Very clean, comfortable property. It's usually difficult to understand the workings of modern day appliances, but the appliances at Smallcroft were quite straightforward to operate, with good instructions, so that was a big plus for us.
A comfortable, well equipped 'cottage' with a bus service into Whitstable near by and ongoing buses to Canterburyother destinations .
Very comfortable cottage, good facilities clean and welcoming. I would book again if going to the same area,

This is our second visit to smallcroft . A home from home everything you need lovely garden. We love sitting in the garden looking at stars .there were so clear . Food amazing at whitstable Castle, oyster pearl and if you visit canterbury the old gate pub food amazing there are so many amazing places to visit Battle of Britain Museum Canterbury .Leeds Castle
You could call this The Tardis, its deceptively spacious! This is quite the CLEANEST property I have ever stayed in, it was immaculate. We had a lovely three days in Smallcroft and enjoyed the garden and the convenient location. My only grumble would be that the washing machine was out of order which had been an important factor when booking so that was a shame. The shower was great but a bit slippery so a non slip mat would be advisable. All in all a fabulous property which was well equipped, comfortable and super clean. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Great location, comfy. Beds were good, bathroom good, kitchen and utilities good. Smoke alarm extremely temperamental! Any small cooking sets it and the bed room alarms off, make sure all doors are closed when cooking Great for sightseeing Kent, 2045 mins to most places, shops and food outlets local.
Another enjoyable stay at Smallcroft with everything we needed to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
Great location for access to main roads and places of interest, well appointed, clean and tidy, our only issue was a lack of hot water from the kitchen tap, not sure why.
Jo was very helpful with recommendations and local information. The bungalow was so clean and tidy, everything was easy to excess. The heating, hot water and there was ample cutlery, plates and cups etc ..
Stuart
Comfortable stay. Everything we needed was there. Grandson appreciated the Sky TV as he could watch Dr Who! The owner called and it was good to meet her. Definitely recommend the bungalow.

Ideal property for our group of 3 adults and two children. May well book again.
The property was beautiful, superbly clean and plenty of facilities, even got us some milk and some biscuits and cake which was a lovely touch. plenty of space for us all and plenty of storage space. the shower was amazing
The property was clean, well equipped and comfortable and the garden was lovely. It is very close to the beach and we enjoyed the walk along the beach to Whitstable. We would definitely rebook. It was just what we needed for a restful weekend

A lovely holiday home, very clean and comfortable. Actually bigger than it looks on the pictures. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the bungalow was well kitted out with everything you might need while on holiday. Lovely sunny garden.
Dishwasher is not in kitchen and too small for family of 6

We had an excellent time at Smallcroft. The property was exceptionally clean, well maintained and equipped by the owners. The owners made us really welcome and checked that everything was OK. Location wise Smallcroft was perfect for walking to Whitstable and the beach as well as easy access to other places of interest in the area. Overall a really lovely place to stay. We will return.
Robert
A really enjoyable stay. The cottage is clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. Jo, the owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient not far from the beach and a half hour walk into Whitstable. There are convenience shops within 10 minutes walk. Lots to see in the area. Whitstable is a gem, and we also highly recommend Leeds Castle and Broadstairs. Hope to return.
We always enjoy our stays at Smallcroft. It is homely and wellequipped, but unfussy. The owner keeps everything spotlessly clean and in good condition. It has a real holiday feel and provides a welcome break!
We have stayed at Smallcroft several times and always enjoy our visit. There is generous offstreet parking and it is in a pleasant and safe area. The bungalow itself has a good holiday feel and has a large garden. It is well maintained and cared for by Jo, the owner. She is always on hand to deal with any issues arising. In general, a home from home for us.
Patricia
We found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable with all the equipment, bedding and towels etc. that we needed. Essentials such as washingup liquid, toilet rolls, tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk and biscuits were there when we arrived. There was also a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree for our preChristmas stay. Jo was very helpful and replied promptly to any queries that I had by text. Location was good for the North Kent Coast. I would recommend Smallcroft to others and we would seek to rent it again if we return to the area.
This was a perfect property for our needs. All the rooms were of a good size and that includes the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of everything so the use of the dishwasher is very economical. The loungediner had comfortable furniture and the substantial dining table was of a good size with comfortable chairs. Had the weather been a bit kinder we would have used the outside space for relaxing and dining in the evenings as the furniture provided was excellent. The location was ideal for us with nothing too far away and Whitstable is in easy walking distance even for our two young grand children. The Rose in Bloom pubrestaurant is a 10min walk and worth a visit either for a drink or tasty meal. The local beaches at Seasalter and Whitstable are nothing special so it is worth the 30 mins drive to sandy Minnis Bay Birchington where parking is free along the promenade plus there are the usual facilities such as toilets, restaurants, cafes and other types of food and drink outlets. It is worth checking tide times beforehand though as high tide does reach the prom walls. The owner Jo was lovely and very welcoming and keeps the property in excellent condition and we are already making plans to return there at some stage in the future.
This was a lovely little place to head back to each day after being out with the children visiting places around Kent. Had everything we needed to make the stay comfortable and easy. The tea, milk and biscuits left for us for our arrival helped with the long journey we had down to Kent much appreciated!
Alison
Smallcroft is a lovely well equiped bungalow. It's homely and done with very high detail to decoration and household contents. Would definitely recommend staying here. And would like to thank Jo owner for milk etc upon arrival. Nice meeting you too. Thanks again x
Small niggle, but could do with blackout linings on the bedroom curtains. This time of year the bedroom was as bright as a sunroom by 5AM. Might not bother many people, but I couldn't sleep. Apart from that, very clean and comfortable and would definitely recommend.
Amelia
Had a lovely stay here. Beautifully clean and well equipped. 5 minutes walk to the sea to watch the most amazing sunsets. Had a text from the owner the day before to say tea coffee and biscuits had been provided for our arrival.
Very enjoyable in a very nice cottage.
Michael
Our third stay here. In summary, clean, comfortable, convenient, quiet! Lovely private back garden with seating. Great location side road ten minutes walk from the beach and a few minutes walk from the end of the road in either direction to two convenience stores. 25 minute beach seafront stroll to the centre of whitstable and 20 minutes by car to the centre of Canterbury.
Smallcroft is in a lovely location and was extremely clean and comfortable. Beds very comfortable and bedding was very fresh and pretty. Kitchen is quite small but fine if you don't want to produce gastronomic masterpieces. We were very happy with the accommodation and the location was very central to all the places that we wanted to visit.
